development and power

Life's driver is mere faith.
faith in cars we drive;
faith in banks we entrust our wealth          upon;
faith in people we choose to build families with.
Is that true? Or is there other invisible power that we have faith in, that is the source of all things going well in our lives?

For centuries men have fought wars upon wars in pursuit of power. That intrigues intense eagerness to examine interrelation between development and power as a qualification for the belief that development is the source of power. A not so far fetched example is of the so called develped counties and developing ones- which has power over the other? Take a typical African rural family where a child with more or of high intellect has a stringer say above every family member despite age.
